Markus Kobler

Director of Engineering at Regal Voice

Markus Kobler has a wealth of experience in the engineering field. Markus began their career in 2003 as a Senior Developer at Taglab. In 2007, they became the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Taglab and also a Senior Consultant at Detica Ltd. During their time at Detica Ltd, they delivered the FX Spreading Engine's technical specification, providing a scaleable and powerful set of controls for spreading Spot and Forward FX products across the bank's FX eCommerce platforms. In 2010, they became the Owner of Distinctive Edge. From 2012 to 2016, they were the Director of Engineering at BraveNewTalent, where they initially joined to help sunset a legacy product, freeing the team to finish new platform, but quickly moved into a leadership role to help radically turn around the product's development and hosting infrastructure. Markus then moved to Localytics as a Principal Engineer in 2016 and to CarGurus as Principle Architect / Manager, Platform in 2017. In 2019, they joined PlacePass/TinyTrips as VP of Engineering, leading the engineering team through dramatic changes during the pandemic through to its acquisition by Hopper. In 2021, they became the Director of Engineering at Hopper, and in 2022, they became the Director of Engineering at Regal.io.

Markus Kobler attended the University of Nottingham from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science.
