Prem S. Kaushal

Prem Kaushal is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in structural biology and biotechnology. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Regional Centre for Biotechnology since October 2018, Prem also holds the position of Staff Scientist and Group Leader at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) since 2017. Previous roles include a Postdoctoral Fellow at Biggs Laboratory, Wadsworth Center from 2012 to 2017, where expertise in cryo-electron microscopy and single particle reconstruction was developed, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Case Western Reserve University in 2011-2012 focused on X-ray crystallography. Prem began the research career as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Science from 2010 to 2011. Prem earned a Ph.D. in X-ray crystallography from the Indian Institute of Science in 2010 and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Jammu in 2003.
