About the Role:

Are you looking for a challenging role where you can utilize your expertise in financial accounting? The key overall objective of the Accountant is to provide support to the Manager, Financial Reporting. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including day-to-day accounting activities, financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, Ad-hoc report creation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistance in preparing quarterly, and annual financial statements with appropriate note
    disclosure in compliance with ASPE as required.

  • Assistance in the reconciliations for general ledger accounts as requested including Cash,
    Deposits, Trust Accounts, Accounts Receivable and Payable, Loans, Revenue and, Interest
    income and expense.

  • Timely completion of journal entries as required.

  • Reconciliation of deposit and trust accounts including validating the amounts recorded in the
    ERP system against the Agreement of Purchase and Sale Agreement.

  • Reconciliation of loan draw/repayment amounts recorded in the ERP system to third party loan
    statements.

  • Reconciliation of relevant financial statement line items to project job cost reports.

  • Create journal entries required to allow for completion of project financial reporting.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly, and annual financial statements with appropriate note
    disclosure as required for assigned projects.

About You:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of financial reporting and accounting experience.

  • Previous Land Development/Production Housing exposure preferred

  • Exceptional capabilities in Microsoft Excel.

  • CA - CPA designation preferred.

  • Proven use of SQL and VBA or similar is preferred.

  • Previous experience with Newstar or similar ERP software preferred.

  • Post-Secondary education or suitable professional training and experience.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations.

  • Highly organized with the ability too prioritize tasks and process large volumes of information.

  • Professional with an excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments.
