Valerie O'Brien

Valerie O'Brien has a diverse work experience background. Valerie worked at RelateCare | Communicating Better Health from 2015 to the present, starting as a Business Development Associate, then progressing to become a Business Development Manager, and currently holds the position of Director of Business Development. In their roles, Valerie supported the growth and activities of RelateCare within the US healthcare market, generated and developed leads, researched target organizations, and established communications to benefit RelateCare services. Additionally, they developed and implemented strategies for the expansion of RelateCare work streams through partnerships.

Apart from their work at RelateCare, Valerie was part of the Washington-Ireland Program for Service and Leadership in 2015, where they completed a 12-month program of personal and professional development. Valerie also had an internship as a Research Intern at Forbes Tate Partners, where they gained experience in lobbying and advocacy strategies.

Valerie briefly worked at Campus Services Waterford as a WIT Card Promotions staff. Overall, Valerie has a diverse range of experiences in business development, research, and program leadership.

Valerie O'Brien started their education journey by obtaining their Leaving Certificate from Presentation Secondary School Waterford in 2013. This certificate covered subjects such as English, Irish, Maths, French, Business, Geography, and Biology.

Valerie then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from Waterford Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2013 to 2017.

In 2017, Valerie obtained a certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM).

Continuing their educational pursuits, Valerie went on to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and Business Consultancy Practice from the University of Aberdeen. Valerie completed their MBA program from 2018 to 2020.
