Jan Veesart serves as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Learning Community Mentor at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where mentorship responsibilities include guiding multiple incoming medical students each year. In addition, Jan Veesart holds the position of Core Education Faculty, collaborating with faculty to enhance student learning and success. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine since 2012, Jan Veesart also fulfills roles as Medical Director for the Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program, Clinical Reasoning Coach, and Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor. With prior experience as a Senior Physician for the New Mexico Disaster Medical Assistance Team and Medical Director for the Pararescue School at Kirtland Air Force Base, Jan Veesart brings a wealth of emergency medicine expertise. Academic qualifications include an M.D. from the Uniformed Services University and a Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
