Paul Nees

With over 18 years in commodity trading and risk management, Paul Nees serves as Vice President, Operations Control Team for Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG). In his current position, Mr. Nees oversees the Operations Control Team which includes risk management, commodity market analysis, supply chain, and margin optimization.

Mr. Nees has been with REG for nearly 15 years. Prior to his current role, Mr. Nees served as purchasing manager as well as serving in a procurement and chemical purchasing role. He also has past experience working for FCStone, CHS Inc., AGP, and West Central Cooperative.

Mr. Nees is a current board member for the American Fats and Oils Association, a current board member for United Way of Story County, and a current Chairperson of the Gilbert Parks & Rec Commission. He has also served as a member of the Finance Committee of Gilbert Lutheran Church. In his free time, he is an active youth sports coach for several of his kids’ sports teams. Mr. Nees received a BS in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University.
