Brendan Taylor

Brendan Taylor has a diverse and extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry. Brendan is currently serving as a Controls Software Engineering Manager at RES, the world's largest independent renewable energy company. Prior to this, they worked as a Controls Software Engineer at RES. Brendan also gained valuable experience at WindESCo, where they served as a Principal Software and Controls Engineer, and later as the Director of Data Integration.

Before joining WindESCo, Brendan was the Director of Controls Engineering at Edisun Microgrids, where they designed control systems for innovative solar power plants and photovoltaic tracking systems. Brendan also developed numerous control algorithms and participated in the development of intellectual property.

Earlier in their career, Brendan worked as a Lead Controls and Software Engineer at Innovus Power, Inc., providing team leadership and developing innovative solutions that generated intellectual property. Brendan also served as a Lead Systems Engineer and later as an Engineering Manager at NRG Systems, where they contributed to the development of resource assessment products and managed instrument engineering projects.

Brendan's work experience also includes roles as an Engineering Manager and Technical Group Leader in software at Northern Power Systems. Brendan started their career as an Applications Engineer and later worked as a Software Engineer and Project Manager at the same company.

Brendan's educational background includes research assistant positions at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, specializing in renewable energy research and wind power engineering. Brendan made significant contributions to the development and analysis of hybrid power systems and wind turbine models.

Brendan Taylor has a diverse education history. Brendan attended Portledge School from 1983 to 1987 and obtained their High School Diploma. Following that, they enrolled at McGill University from 1987 to 1989, where they studied Science and Music. Brendan then went on to Berklee College of Music from 1989 to 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Production and Engineering. Finally, Brendan pursued their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Renewable Energy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1997 to 2000.
