Nancy Apio is an experienced gender coordinator and advocate with a strong background in gender equality and sexual and reproductive health rights. Currently serving as the Gender Coordinator at Reproductive Health Uganda since October 2018, Nancy excels in integrating gender mainstreaming into institutional programs and providing technical guidance on gender-transformative approaches. Previous roles include positions as Gender Coordinator at Lutheran World Federation and Gender Specialist at Refugee Law Project, where Nancy focused on providing support to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. Nancy's extensive experience also includes serving as a Gender Justice Project Officer at the Justice and Reconciliation Project and advocating for community rights as a researcher at Justice and Reconciliation Uganda. Nancy holds a Master's degree in Ethics and Governance from Gulu University, a Diploma in Law from the Law Development Centre, and a Bachelor's degree in Development Studies from Kampala International University, and is currently pursuing further studies at Smith College.
