Diego Espinosa Moreno

Diego Espinosa Moreno is currently the CFO for B2C at República del Cacao. Diego has over two years of experience in finance and strategy consulting, and has been with República del Cacao for just over two years.

Moreno began their career as a Consultor en Finanzas y Estrategia Corporativa with a focus on corporate finance. In this role, they were responsible for developing a new organizational structure for their team, which included a strategic distribution of functions and tasks, and a restructuring of the action plans with management indicators. This led to increased empowerment and commitment from their team, and ultimately helped the company achieve its financial goals.

Moreno then transitioned to working as the CFO / Gerente Financiero Corporativo for República del Cacao in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. In this role, they were responsible for a team of 10 people and oversaw all financial aspects of the company. Diego was able to successfully restructure the company's debt, reducing the annual interest payments by 20%. Diego also reduced the amount of overdue invoices by 25% by restructuring the credit process and policy, and by better measuring the risk for each client. This resulted in an improved cash cycle of 15 days. Additionally, they were able to increase the amount of credit facilities for bank guarantees by 100%, by opening relationships with two additional institutions and increasing the credit limits on existing lines. Lastly, they were able to reduce direct expenses by 3% (USD 75K) through a more robust internal control process and by maintaining good relationships with suppliers to get long-term benefits.

Diego Espinosa Moreno has an MBA from EGADE Business School del Tecnológico de Monterrey, as well as an MBA Exchange Program from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Diego is also an economist, with a degree in Economics and Finance from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. Diego also has a certification from LinkedIn in Digital Transformation.
