Stephen Pinfield is a Professor of Information Services Management at the University of Sheffield, where research and teaching encompass various areas of information services management, alongside active involvement in national and international policy initiatives related to research dissemination and data management. Pinfield has held significant roles such as Senior Lecturer at the Research On Research Institute and Associate Director at the University of Nottingham, where responsibilities included managing a converged IT and library service supporting multiple campuses. As the Founding Director of SHERPA, Pinfield contributed to global open-access scholarly communication. Additional experience includes board membership with EMMAN Ltd and various positions in information and technology services at multiple universities. Educational qualifications include an MA in History from the University of Cambridge, an MA in Library and Information Studies from UCL, a PhD from Nottingham University Business School, and a PG Cert in Education from the University of Sheffield.
