Lawrence Greenfield

Head of Reagent Development at Resolve Biosciences

Lawrence Greenfield, M.D., Ph.D. has a long and varied work experience. Lawrence started their career in 1970 when they completed their M.D. at the UCLA School of Medicine and their PhD in molecular biology at the UCLA Molecular Biology Institute. In 1982, they joined Cetus Corporation as a Senior Scientist in the PCR Division, where they managed the TaqManTM program and cloned three thermostable polymerases from diverse species of organisms. Lawrence then worked at Applied Biosystems from 1998-2003, where they developed three key fundamental sample preparation technologies and commercialized them as the NucPrep DNA Chemistry for Tissues. From 2003-2011, they worked at Life Technologies, where they managed the Immunology Systems, Anatomical Pathology, Small Animal Imaging, and Bioanalytics departments. From 2011-2014, they worked at Affymetrix as the Senior Director of the Genetic Analysis Business Unit, where they successfully launched the Next Generation Oncoscan microarray platform. From 2014-2016, they worked at 10X Genomics as a Fellow in Biochemistry & Sequencing, where they played a key role in developing a next generation sequencing library preparation platform. From 2016-2019, they worked at Roche Sequencing Solutions as the Senior Director, where they managed the Chemistry Department and generated the reagent timeline strategy for early research and transfer to development. Finally, from 2019-2022, they worked at Genapsys as the Vice President and Senior Director of Reagent Development and Clonal Amplification, respectively, where they established protocols, documentation and tracking systems for manufacturing and QC'ing of reagents both for R & D and for commercialization. In 2022, they began working at Resolve BioSciences as the Head of Reagent Development, creating a Reagent Development team in San Jose for their Molecular Cartography platform.

Lawrence Greenfield, M.D., Ph.D. began their education in 1970, earning a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1974. Lawrence then pursued a M.D. at UCLA, which they completed in 1981, and also completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 1978.
