You are a dynamic Material Planning Specialist who is ready to apply your inventory planning and production scheduling skills to develop and lead the overall production planning process at Response Biomedical! Key Responsibilities:

Material Planning

  • Responsible for developing and leading of the overall production planning process. In addition, responsible for the scheduling process of both sub-assemblies and finished goods throughout the production process.

  • Ownership of the end-to-end material planning process including demand planning, capacity planning, and historical usage analysis.

  • Determine and review planning parameters (e.g. safety stock) on a regular basis, and maintain MRP (i.e. Material Requirement Planning) parameters updated to ensure the proper Planning & Purchasing process of our products and maintain MRP (i.e. Material Requirement Planning) parameters updated to ensure the proper Planning & Purchasing process of our products and material.

  • Create and implement inventory targets and allocation strategies to maximize inventory levels and on target shipping. Manage inventory levels according to those targets.

  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.

  • Monitor the customer’s demands for the products.  Maintain the demand forecast.

  • Responsible for creating new item part numbers in the ERP system and maintain all related parameters,

  • Support Procurement in the Purchasing process, if needed, by generating purchase orders and communicating with vendors. Ensure materials meet specifications, and quality standards, and are cost-efficient.

  • Coordinate with internal cross functional teams to prioritize production to meet customer order deliveries.

  • Assist in the cycle counts and annual inventory count planning & preparation.

  • Work closely with Customer Service and Sales in order to fulfill customer needs and requests.

  • Coordinate sales order dates with Customer Service, and work order dates with the Manufacturing team according to the scheduling, maintaining those dates in the system, and ensuring the proper functionally of ATP.

  • Develop and maintain performance indicators (e.g. OTIF, planning adherence).

Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

Formal Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, inventory, or purchasing management
  • PMAC, ISM, or APICs or similar certifications are a plus!

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive planning /purchasing experience preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of Procurement and Production Scheduling is an asset.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with the ability to build relationships and garner buy-in.
  • Well-versed in Supply Chain environment including planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • ERP system experience, including maintenance and implementation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Material Requirement Planning software and Microsoft Office.
  • Highly apt problem-solver and troubleshooter.
  • Able to research, analyze, and evaluate components of supply chain processes to enable forward-thinking and innovation.
  • Proficient in understanding all levels of the supply chain operation processes (i.e., inventory management, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset coupled with a strong business acumen.
  • Enjoys working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Our salary structure is aligned with market standards and is finalized considering factors such as job-related expertise, skills, education, and experience.
