Gareth Tootell has a diverse range of work experience in the restaurant industry. Gareth started off their career as a Maitre D' at The Dinex Group in 2011, where they worked until 2013. After that, they joined The Peacock NYC as a Maitre D' from 2013 to 2014. Gareth then moved on to Boulud Sud and Bar Boulud, where they served as a General Manager from 2014 to 2016. Gareth then worked as a Sommelier at The French Laundry from 2016 to 2017. Gareth subsequently became the General Manager at The Penrose Room from 2017 to 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Regional Director of Operations at Restaurant Associates since July 2022. Additionally, they had a previous role as a Restaurant General Manager at Restaurant Associates from 2019 to 2023.

Gareth Tootell completed an Advanced Award in Wine & Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2013. Gareth previously earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Law from Sheffield Hallam University between 2003 and 2006. Prior to that, Gareth attended Cheadle Hulme School from 1996 to 2003.
