Yotam Perkal

Yotam Perkal has over 15 years of work experience. In 2003, they began their career as an Infantry Officer - First Lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces. In 2014, they joined RAD Data Communications as an Automation Engineer where they developed and maintained a python based automation framework for creating and running automatic tests (from scratch). In 2016, they joined PayPal as a Data Scientist & Security Researcher in the Threat Sciences team, where they developed models addressing Insider Threat scenarios and created a model identifying abnormal/unnecessary user roles in the IAM system. Yotam also served as a Software Engineer in the Cyber Security Operations team and as a Software Automation Engineer in the Security Product Center. In 2019, they joined Rezilion as Director of Vulnerability Research and Head of Cloud Engineering. In this role, they established and led the Cloud Engineering function and led a team of 5 DevOps/SRE Engineers. Yotam also conducted security research around Vulnerability Prioritization, Operating Systems Hardening, Binary Hardening, Container and K8s Security and led the runtime visibility aspect of the Rezilion product.

Yotam Perkal obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev between 2009 and 2014. Since then, they have obtained various certifications, including a Jr Penetration Tester from TryHackMe in 2023, Machine Learning and AI Foundations: Decision Trees from LinkedIn in 2019, Deep Learning from deeplearning.ai on Coursera in 2018, Machine Learning from Coursera in 2018, Introduction to Data Science in Python from Coursera in 2017, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2019, Complete Jenkins Course For Developers and DevOps from Udemy, Complete Python Bootcamp from Udemy, and Docker Technologies for DevOps and Developers from Udemy.
