Carsten Schmitz

Carsten Schmitz currently holds the position of Ingenieur für Wärmeprojekte at Rhein-Sieg Netz GmbH since January 2024. Prior experience includes serving as a Trainee in Energy Supply & Consulting at rhenag Rheinische Energie AG from April 2022 to December 2023, and working as a Junior Consultant at con|energy unternehmensberatung gmbh from April 2021 to March 2022. Carsten Schmitz completed a Master Thesis on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells at Robert Bosch GmbH, where also an internship was undertaken focused on Customer and Market Excellence. Intern experience includes a brief tenure at RWE Power AG in late 2015. Academic qualifications comprise a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Supply from RWTH Aachen University (2017-2020), a Master's in Energy and Process Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2017), and a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Resources Engineering from RWTH Aachen University (2013-2017).
