Rebecca Butcher has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Rebecca began their career as a Quake Player, competing in computer video games from 2006 to 2010. Rebecca then worked as a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital and Michigan Veterinary Specialists from 2012 to 2014.

From 2015 to 2016, Rebecca served as a Student Teaching Assistant at Wayne State University, where they assisted with Geology 1010 and Petrology courses. Rebecca also conducted research and fieldwork, presenting their findings at GSA 2016.

Rebecca's involvement in the field of geology continued at the University of Maryland College Park, where they worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant from 2017 to 2019. Rebecca'sresponsibilities included conducting research on post-seismic deformation and serving as a teaching assistant for various geology courses.

In 2017, Rebecca interned at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, gaining valuable industry experience. Rebecca then joined Wood as a Geologist from 2019 to 2021, utilizing MATLAB and ArcGIS for 3D modeling, statistical analysis, and groundwater flow visualization of persistent organic pollutants.

Most recently, Rebecca joined Rhodium Enterprises, Inc in 2021. Rebecca initially worked as a Data Integration Engineer from October 2021 to April 2022, and then transitioned to the role of Software Engineer, where they currently hold a position.

Throughout their career, Rebecca has demonstrated proficiency in various tools and software, such as MATLAB, ArcGIS, InSAR/GPS, and Coulomb modeling. Rebecca'sdiverse experiences highlight their adaptability, strong analytical skills, and ability to contribute effectively in both research and industry settings.

Rebecca Butcher has a comprehensive educational background in geophysics, seismology, and geology. Rebecca obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Maryland between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geology from Wayne State University between 2014 and 2016. Rebecca began their academic journey at Collin College from 2008 to 2012, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Earth Science, General. In addition to their formal education, they have also acquired the OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training certification from the American Safety Council, Inc in September 2019 and the CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Red Cross in August 2019.
