Kim Jones

Global Product Support Engineer at Ribbon Communications

Kim Jones has over 30 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Kim started their career in 1990 at Nortel as a Hardware Design Engineer, responsible for designing circuit boards and utilizing hardware tools for analyzing and debugging designs. Kim then transitioned to the role of Hardware Global Product Support Engineer, providing technical support for the DMS-100 XPM product line and traveling to customer sites to resolve high-profile issues. In 2002, Kim became a Software Developer at Nortel, where they developed diagnostic and maintenance software for the UEN9000 Line product, receiving recognition for excellence on a project. Kim also worked as a Global Product Support Engineer, providing technical support for the Media Gateway 9000 and Media Gateway 9000 Element Manager. Since 2010, Kim has been working at Ribbon Communications as a Global Product Support Engineer, focusing on technical support for the A2 Communication Applications Server, specifically call processing and providing code solutions for customer issues. Throughout their career, Kim has gained expertise in various protocols, including SIP and SDP, Megaco, and IP and ATM networks.

Kim Jones earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, completing their education from 1985 to 1989.
