Vladimir Semenov

Vladimir Semenov, PhD has extensive work experience in the telecom industry. Vladimir began their career as a Research Fellow at the Fiber Optics Research Center at General Physics Institute (FORC at GPI), Russian Academy of Sciences, where they conducted research and development of optical fibers and fiber-optic modules for long-haul DWDM optical transport networks. During this time, they published 29 scientific articles in international publications.

Vladimir then joined NEC as a Transmission Systems Engineer, providing system and sales engineering support for SDH/PDH and DWDM optical transport network solutions. Vladimir also played a key role in an international project team that engineered and designed a transcontinental fiber-optic SDH transport network.

Moving on, they worked for Alcatel-Lucent in various roles. As an Account Manager, they doubled annual sales by effectively utilizing direct and partner sales channels. Later, they became the Director of the National Optical Networks Division, where they managed the division and increased sales by 108% within a year. Prior to their Ph.D., Vladimir Semenov earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in 1988 and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 1985 from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute). Their field of study during this period was Solid State Physics.
