Christopher Lalau-Keraly

Christopher Lalau-Keraly is the Director of Engineering at RIOS Corporation and a co-founder of the company. Christopher has been with RIOS for 3 years and 9 months. Prior to their current position, they were the Technical Lead: Passive Photonics at PSIQUANTUM, where they worked for 1 year. Before that, they were a Photonic Engineer at PSIQUANTUM for 7 months. Before that, they were a Member of Research Staff at PARC for 8 months. Christopher has also worked as a PhD student (EECS) at UC Berkeley for 5 years. Lastly, they were an Officer of the watch in the French Navy for 5 months.

Christopher Lalau-Keraly received their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2016. Christopher'sresearch focused on optoelectronics and they developed optimization software for nanophotonic components using adjoint based methods and FDTD simulation tools. Christopher also studied bipolar phototransistors to enhance the sensitivity of optical front ends in photoreceiver systems and designed, fabricated, and characterized photoreceivers in the Berkeley cleanroom facilities.
