Ram Samudrala is a Professor and Division Chief at the University at Buffalo, where research focuses on computational biology, genomics, and proteomics. The primary aim is to elucidate processes related to protein, small molecule, nucleic acid, and interactome structure, function, interaction, evolution, and design, ultimately understanding how genomic information influences behavior and characteristics in varying environments. Prior to this role, Ram served as an Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of Washington from January 2001 to October 2014. Ram earned a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Biology from Stanford University and a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Maryland, following a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science and Genetics from Ohio Wesleyan University.
