Philipp Setz

Philipp Setz currently serves as Legal Director and Global Head of Legal for Ripple Custody following the integration of Metaco into Ripple in April 2024. Previously, Philipp held the position of General Counsel at Metaco, overseeing the legal department and serving on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Prior to Metaco, Philipp worked at Ivalua as Senior Director of Commercial Legal for multiple regions and was employed at Riot Games as Senior Legal Counsel for EMEA & APAC. Additional experience includes roles at Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH as an Attorney-at-Law, Celonic AG as Director of Legal & HR, and an attorney at PwC specializing in Banking Supervision Law. Philipp began a career in legal consulting as a Press Officer and Legal Advisor at ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen and was previously a German Executive Project Manager at Mashup Ventures Ltd. Education consists of a law degree from Universität des Saarlandes and a Referendariat at District Court Essen.
