Nicole Fern

Nicole Fern has diverse work experience in the field of security and engineering. Nicole currently works as a Senior Security Analyst at Riscure since June 2021. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Hardware Security Engineer at Tortuga Logic, Inc. from October 2018 to May 2021.

Before joining the industry, Nicole worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Santa Barbara from June 2016 to September 2018. Nicole also gained experience as a Visiting Researcher at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from August 2016 to November 2017.

Nicole began their career at Apple as a Hardware Verification Engineer in July 2013, and they later worked as a Software Security Intern at Cisco in June-August 2012.

Nicole Fern completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Nicole then pursued higher education and received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara from 2011 to 2016.
