Nenad Uzunovic is an experienced engineering professional specializing in motion planning and autonomous technologies. Currently serving as the Director of Motion Planning at Rivian since January 2024, Nenad previously worked at Cruise from July 2019 to January 2024 as a Principal Engineer, where significant contributions were made to the decision-making stack for autonomous driving. Prior roles include Staff Software Engineer at Tesla from November 2016 to May 2019, leading the Enhanced Summon feature and facilitating motion planning for Auto Lane Change. Nenad also acted as Lead Firmware Engineer at GoPro, overseeing the flight controller for the Karma drone, and spent nearly a decade at Robotic Research LLC, contributing to the development of high maneuverability path planning software and leading projects in robot guidance. Educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.
