Heidi Vainio

Heidi Vainio has a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan. Heidi has a wealth of experience in various roles, including as a Senior Fermentation Specialist at Roal Oy where Heidi is involved in industrial scale fermentations, downstream processing, enzyme manufacturing, and fermentation scheduling. Prior to this, Heidi worked as a Project Researcher at Aalto University focusing on research in second generation microbial biofuels. Heidi also has experience as a Trainee at the National Institute for Health and Welfare where Heidi conducted their Master's thesis on recombinant polioviruses. Heidi's expertise includes microbial technology, R&D, process development, microbial cultivations, scale-up, and downstream processing.
