Hyrum Anderson has over 13 years of work experience in the field of security data science. Hyrum began their career in 2008 as a Technical Consultant: Sensors, Algorithms & Data Science at Acclima, Inc. In 2010, they took on the role of Principal Member of Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. In 2014, they became a Principal Researcher -- Security Data Scientist at Mandiant, a FireEye Company. The following year, they took on the role of Security Data Scientist, FireEye Labs at FireEye, Inc. In 2016, they became a Deep Learning Advisor at Techcyte. In 2015, they became the Chief Scientist at Endgame. In 2019, they took on the role of Technical Lead, Security Protections at Elastic. In 2020, they became a Principal Architect at Microsoft. Most recently, in 2022, they assumed the role of Distinguished Engineer at Robust Intelligence. Additionally, they have served on the Governing Board of CAMLIS since 2017.

Hyrum Anderson received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University between 1996 and 2003, with a focus on Signal Processing and Electromagnetics. Hyrum then went on to receive their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University between 2002 and 2003, with a focus on Remote Sensing, Image Processing, and Machine Learning. Finally, they completed their PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington between 2006 and 2010, with a focus on Machine Learning and Signal Processing.
