Melanie Shapiro

Melanie Shapiro is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and education. Currently serving as a National Council Member for the Golisano College of Computing & Information Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology and on the Board of Directors for Code to Inspire, a nonprofit focused on empowering girls and women in Afghanistan through coding education, Melanie has also been a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line since January 2020. As the Founder and CEO of Token, which innovates identity verification, and a Co-Founder of Digsby, which was sold to Tagged, Inc., Melanie has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and technical acumen. Additionally, Melanie held a position as an Adjunct Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology and has advanced academic credentials, including an MBA in Marketing and a Doctorate in Consumer Behavior.
