Brent Brakeboer

Brent Brakeboer is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Engineering Manager and Senior Technical Staff at Rocket Lab since March 2021, and as an Advisor at Wyvern since March 2022. Previously, Brent worked as an Optical Systems Engineer at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) from February 2020 to February 2021, where Brent led the technical development of a high-resolution payload for the UK Space Agency and ESA. Brent's career includes roles as Solutions Architect for Zephyr at Airbus Defence and Space, where Brent provided technical guidance and customer interactivity, and as Optical Systems Engineer and later Optomechanical Engineer at SSTL, leading R&D projects and supporting successful bids. Brent’s earlier experience includes roles at Space Flight Laboratory, Boer Consulting, Hatch, and Morrison Hershfield. Brent holds a Master of Applied Science in Aerospace Science from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Ryerson University.
