Kannappan Natarasan

Kannappan Natarasan has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering and data engineering fields. From 2000 to 2004, they were a System Engineer at Selectica India Pvt Ltd. From 2004 to 2008, they were a Data Warehouse Developer at DBS Bank, where they created FastLoad and MLoad scripts to load data from staging to target databases, fine-tuned complex queries to enhance performance, and designed and developed Informatica mappings for source to staging. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Sr. Data Warehouse Developer at AT&T, where they designed and developed scripts and logic for smoother production flow, wrote design specifications to translate technical solutions for developers, and developed scripts to handle data issues from mainframe sources. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Data Engineer at Julius Baer, where they designed, developed, and reviewed Dimension models, built ETL pipelines with Informatica to move data from complex private banking applications to a central warehouse, and oversaw test cases and test strategies of QA teams. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Software Engineer at Adobe, where they designed data pipelines from Cassandra to Hadoop, flattened data from NoSQL through Spark, and loaded flat data into Hadoop. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Cloudera (Hortonworks merged with Cloudera on Jan 2019), where they built and maintained API backends for various functions of Saas product lines, built automated test cases and integrated with Jenkins, and designed alerting systems to ease maintenance in production and integrated with Slack. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at RocketReach.co, where they code and maintains new features on existing product suite REST API end points using Django framework, deploys applications and manages on AWS components through circleci, develops APP integration with API end points for salesforce, recurly, and stripe platforms for subscription management and payments, and is familiar with VUE.

Kannappan Natarasan obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) from Anna University Chennai between 1994 and 1998. In 2005 they obtained a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI). In 2017, they completed a Machine Learning Engineer Nano Degree from Udacity. Kannappan also has certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Udacity, Hortonworks, and Sun Microsystems, obtained in 2022, 2018, 2017, and 2000, respectively.
