Ian Mitchell serves as the Director of the Office of Social Concerns for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, where responsibilities include directing programs that promote the church's social mission and Catholic social teaching. Previously, Ian held roles at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, managing grants for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and coordinating Catholic social teaching education efforts. Additional experience includes serving as Support Community Coordinator at Jubilee Jobs, Ministry Formation & Service with the Society of Jesus, and Pastoral Associate at St. Ignatius Church. Ian began a professional career as an Editorial Assistant at the National Geographic Society and has a strong educational background with a Master of Arts in Social Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology from the University of Virginia.
