Frank Romo has had a diverse range of work experiences in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial analysis. Frank has served as the Chief Executive Officer at RomoGIS since 2012, where they have worked on various projects for clients such as the Council of Neighborhoods and Organizations and the National Association of Public Defenders. Frank has also worked with Green Barn Research on mapping sentiments towards policing in Rio de Janeiro, and with Urban Informatics on a real estate visualization app for Bangalore, India. In addition, Frank has worked for the City of Detroit as a Public Safety and Cyber Security Technician, where they managed geographic and database information for emergency management and public safety services. Frank has also worked as a GIS Project Manager for FIS, leading the revamping of the 9-1-1 Computer Aided Dispatch system for the City of Detroit. Prior to that, they worked as an Information Science Fellow for the Detroit Police Department, focusing on improving data quality and performing geospatial analysis. Frank has also worked at the Michigan Technological University Research Institute, Legacy Land Conservancy, the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles, the Midwest University Consortium for Waste Studies, the University of Michigan, and Black Pearl Gardens, where they applied geospatial analysis techniques to various research projects and management roles.
Frank Romo received a Bachelor's degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2012. Frank then pursued a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan between 2014 and 2016. In 2012 and 2013, Frank participated in the NY/PARIS Architecture + Urban Planning Program at Columbia University.
