Keesa McKoy

Digital Director at Roosevelt Institute

Keesa McKoy has a diverse work experience spanning various communication and digital roles. Starting in 2012 as a Journalism Intern for CBS News, they researched and reported Olympic-related stories, produced web-based video and written news content, and managed social media accounts. Keesa then moved on to work at Boston University News Service as a Reporter and Content Producer, where they covered breaking news, anchored and produced live newscasts, and delivered multimedia web content.

In 2013, McKoy joined Simmons College as a Multimedia Producer, responsible for creating visually rich content and storytelling, overseeing marketing strategy for student-produced video segments.

Keesa joined Teach for America in 2015 as a Multimedia Journalist for One Day Magazine, reporting and producing multimedia stories focused on educational equity. At Jobs for the Future, McKoy held multiple positions, including Digital Content and Outreach Manager, where they oversaw the maintenance and expansion of online features, as well as Senior Communications Manager, where they developed content strategies and managed a design team.

McKoy then served as the Director of Communications for ENSA at Boston University, leading communications efforts for the organization. Currently, McKoy is the Digital Director at the Roosevelt Institute.

Keesa McKoy completed their education at Hunter College from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Studies. Keesa then proceeded to Boston University from 2011 to 2012, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.
