Derrick Pauwels

Derrick Pauwels is a seasoned food scientist with extensive expertise in product development and research within the food industry. Currently serving as a Food Scientist at Roskam Baking Company since November 2022, Derrick focuses on frozen dough, co-man snacks, and dry mix R&D. Prior roles include Food Scientist in Dry Mix R&D at Dawn Foods Global, where Derrick developed customized mixes for various baked goods, and Contract Scientist at Kellogg Company, where Derrick led international cereal innovation projects and managed extensive plant trials. Derrick's earlier experiences at Pinnacle Foods Group LLC, Kellogg Company, and academic positions at Michigan State University underscore a strong foundation in food science, with an emphasis on formulation, cost-saving strategies, and laboratory analysis. Derrick holds both a Master's degree and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Michigan State University.
