Mara Laurain is a seasoned food scientist with extensive experience in product development and formulation. Currently employed at Roskam Foods since 2018, Mara focuses on the optimization of dry mix baked goods and ready-to-eat glazes, icings, and frostings. Prior to this role, Mara served as an R&D Food Technologist at Roskam Baking Company from 2014 to 2018, specializing in bag-in-box dry mix bakery items and yeast-raised sweet breads. Earlier experience includes leadership and research roles at Michigan State University, contributing as a Team Leader for the MSU Product Development Team and working as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. Academically, Mara holds a Master of Science in Food Science from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Alma College.
