Rick Johnson

Rick Johnson is currently the Director of Information Security at RStudio. Rick has over 15 years of experience in the IT security industry and has held various leadership positions at companies such as Veracode, Solutionary, and Sacramento Technology Group. Rick is a subject matter expert in multiple security, networking, and IT infrastructure disciplines and has consulted with clients on all facets of vulnerability management in the SDLC. Rick has also provided education on the importance of secure coding within the application architecture. In their current role at RStudio, Rick is responsible for managing enterprise-wide programs for multi-national clients, providing education on the importance of secure coding within the application architecture.

Rick Johnson has a BS in Cyber Security and Information Assurance from Western Governors University. Rick is certified by the EC-Council as an EC-Council Certified Encryption Specialist (ECES), by the Cloud Security Alliance as a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), by ISACA as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), by (ISC)² as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), by CompTIA as a CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network +, by CompTIA as a CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist - CSIS, and by CompTIA as a CompTIA Security+. Rick is also certified by AXELOS Global Best Practice as an ITIL Foundation Certification - IT Service Management, and by the PCI Security Standards Council as a PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA).

Rick Johnson reports to Joe Cheng, CTO. A direct report to Rick Johnson is and Chris Paul - Information Security Engineer. They work with Garrett Smith - Software Architect, Charles Teague - Software Architect, and Joseph Tse - Director, IT Operations.
