Morgan Ortagus has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2007, they worked at USAID as a Public Affairs Officer, responsible for coordinating policy analysis and communication strategies for Middle East countries. Morgan then moved on to roles at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, including Deputy Financial Attache and Middle East & Africa Analyst. In 2013, Ortagus joined Standard Chartered Bank as a Director, where they managed relationships with public sector and developmental organizations and led the Supervisory Remediation Program. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services as the Global Executive Director, co-founding and leading the Geostrategic Business Group. Most recently, Ortagus served as the Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State from 2019 to 2021, representing the United States and communicating foreign policy. Morgan is currently working as a Principal at Rubicon Founders.

Morgan Ortagus completed their Bachelors of Science in Political Science (Cum Laude) at Florida Southern College in 2005. Morgan pursued further education and obtained a Dual MBA and Masters in Government degree from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School in 2013.
