James Withall has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James began their career as a Contract Geologist at Professional Personnel in 1995. From there, they went on to work as a Mine Geologist at Precious Metals Australia Limited in 1996, and later as a Senior Project Geologist at the same company. At Precious Metals Australia Limited, they were responsible for managing exploration programs, resource and reserve development, and environmental and ethnographical surveying. Additionally, they served as a liaison officer with local landholders and was a key member of the bankable feasibility team. In 1998, James joined Xstrata Windimurra Pty Ltd as the Services Manager. There, they were involved in site development and construction. In 2001, they worked as a Principal at Consulant Applied Geologist until 2002. James then joined Baker Steel Capital Managers LLP in 2003 as the Managing Partner & Fund Manager. James held this position until 2017. Finally, in 2017, James became the Chief Executive Officer of Rupert Resources, where they currently serve.

James Withall completed their education history with a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mineral Project Appraisal from Imperial College London, which they pursued from 2002 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Applied Geology from the University of Leicester, where they studied from 1992 to 1995.
