About the role

As the head of product at RVezy, you’ll lead our small team of product managers and designers, rolling up your sleeves to build the Airbnb for RVs. We’re looking for someone who is hands-on and willing to own and manage parts of the product. You will uncover and prioritize deep-seated customer problems that will move the needle for the business, collaborate with your team to design a solution for that problem, work with engineers to ship that solution, and finally, work with your data analyst to understand if your solution solved the underlying customer problem. Along the way, you’ll communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their perspectives, design metrics for success, and learn exactly why your solution did or did not make an impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Define a product vision and gain buy-in from your team and other key stakeholders.

  • Identify, quantify, and prioritize customer problems that align with the product vision.

  • Execute solutions that efficiently solve customer problems.

  • Build and maintain a strong team culture that is aligned, efficient, collaborative, delivers results, and makes the best use of internal and external resources.

  • Dig deep into our data to uncover insights that help drive the north star and core metrics for your team.

  • Work collaboratively with product design, engineering, and operations to ensure effective delivery and support of our services.

  • Act as the owner for our product, being accountable for the team’s overall performance.

  • Develop and execute the product roadmap, setting priorities and and defining key milestones

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitor offerings, and potential areas of growth

  • Develop and maintain product metrics, KPIs, and success criteria to track performance and inform data-driven decisions

  • Drive product growth through user acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies

  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate insights into product enhancements

  • Most importantly, have fun, and accomplish the mission with a positive and winning attitude!

Qualifications:

Competencies, skills, and attributes:

  • Proven experience leading a agile cross-functional teams, guiding other product managers to manage their own teams.

  • An insatiable appetite for using data to guide your insights and decisions.

  • Experience with consumer e-commerce or subscription businesses.

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing stakeholders.

  • Experience in defining metrics for success and using them, along with A/B testing and qualitative feedback, to make sound product decisions.

  • An outcomes-focused approach.

  • Exceptional at prioritizing the highest-value problems in a rapidly growing business.

  • You’re excited about working with people in person and coming into an office.

  • Ability to manage and mentor a small team, while still wanting to roll up your sleeves and jump into the action.

Bonus points if you:

  • Experience working with a two-sided marketplace.

  • Understanding the basic technical underpinnings of your average mobile business — APIs, push notifications, databases, payments, mobile app standards, and messaging.

  • Experience writing basic SQL to pull your own data.

  • Experience building or refining algorithms from a conceptual point of view, including working with data scientists or data engineers.

  • Experience driving your own user research with interviews, focus groups, or surveys.

Location 

The role will require you to work from our office in Centretown 2-3 days per week.
