Jorge Sierra

Jorge Sierra has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jorge is currently the Director Tecnología Termosolar/Head of CSP at Saeta Yield, where they oversee a portfolio of termosolar projects in Spain with a total capacity of 350MW across 7 plants. Prior to this, they worked at NextEra Energy Resources as a Plant General Manager, managing two CSP plants with a thermal storage system and being responsible for operations and O&M budget. Jorge also served as the Production Manager for the same company, where they were involved in the selection of O&M teams, quality control, safety system implementation, and maintenance plans. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Managing Director at Peninsular Cogeneracion SA, overseeing the overall management of the company and being responsible for budget preparation, public administration relations, and investments proposal and execution. Jorge also worked as the Energy Director at Holmen Paper, where they managed electricity contracts, coordinated energy management systems, and oversaw energy investments. Additionally, they served as a Project Manager/O&M Manager at Holmen Paper Papelera Peninsular, a Automation and Projects Engineer at Papelera Peninsular/Unipapel group, and a Systems Design Engineer at ABB. Jorge started their career as an Electrical Engineer with a focus on quality control in the railway installations division at Norcontrol.

Jorge Sierra has a diverse education history. Jorge first attended the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from 1991 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering. Jorge then pursued further education at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña from 1995 to 1998, earning a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, with a focus on Automation and Electronics.

In 2001 and 2002, Jorge attended the Institute for Executive Development (IEDE), where they pursued an MBA Executive degree in Business Administration.

Aside from their formal education, Jorge has also acquired additional certifications. In 2016, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from NextEra Energy Resources. More recently, in 2018, they achieved a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the same institution.
