Emma Bassett

Program Team Lead at SafeStack Academy

Emma Bassett has been in the tech industry since 2006. Emma started their career as an Assistant with the Race Relations Commissioner and Dispute Resolution Team at the New Zealand Human Rights Commission. Emma then moved to the Department of Labour as a Communications Advisor in 2008. In 2010, they joined Catalyst IT Limited as a Project Manager, and the same year joined the Equality and Human Rights Commission as a Regional Advisor. In 2015, they joined Sparks Interactive as a Strategic Account Manager. In 2016, they joined Powershop NZ Ltd as a Software Delivery Manager and was later promoted to Head of Delivery. In 2017, they joined Flux Federation as a Crew Champion, Melbourne Lead, and Scrum Master. In 2019, they joined Trade Me as a Delivery Manager and stayed there until 2021. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Modica Group as a Product Coach and SafeStack as a Program Team Lead.

Emma Bassett has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Hons from Victoria University of Wellington. Emma has also obtained certifications in ICAgile Agile Fundamentals, Mental Health First Aid, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for Teams.
