Head of Marketing at Safewill

Tom Bates has an extensive work experience in digital marketing and technology roles. Tom is currently the Head of Marketing at Safewill since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Digital Marketing at Tyro Payments from 2021 to 2023. In this role, they led a team of digital marketing and technology specialists and drove digital marketing strategies for the company. Before that, they worked as the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at Resultant from 2019 to 2021.

Tom has also held various positions in different organizations. Tom worked as the Head of Digital (Contract) at NobleOak Life Limited from 2018 to 2019 and as the Head of Digital Media & Performance (Contract) at Foxtel from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Commonwealth Bank as a Senior Manager in performance media and paid search roles from 2016 to 2018. Tom also served as the Search Director at Ikon Communications from 2015 to 2016.

Tom has experience working in the field of performance media at Epiphany Search, where they served as the Director of Performance Media - APAC from 2012 to 2014. Tom also worked as a PPC Analyst at Epiphany Search from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they worked at Columbus Search as a Senior Search Manager and Search Manager from 2011 to 2012.

Tom Bates obtained their GCSE from Charlton School, Wellington between 1997 and 2001. Tom then pursued an A-Level degree at New College Telford from 2001 to 2003, focusing on English, History, Media, and Archaeology. Subsequently, from 2004 to 2007, they attended the University of Liverpool, where they obtained a BA Honours Degree in Communications Studies, Media, and Popular Music. Moreover, during their time at the University of Liverpool, they also studied Communication and Media Studies.
