Gianna Jordan

Gianna Jordan has a range of work experience in various fields. Gianna is currently working as a Research Software Engineer at Sage Bionetworks, where they focus on developing features in Python to improve the accessibility and usability of research data. Gianna is currently working on redesigning modules related to metadata validation and submission. In addition, they have co-led a workshop on data model construction and delivered a lecture on programming in R language with RStudio.

Prior to their role at Sage Bionetworks, Gianna served as a Research Assistant at the Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Institute from August 2019 to September 2021. Before that, they worked as a Patient Care Technician at Carondelet Health Network from June 2017 to November 2019.

Gianna also gained experience at the Associated Students of the University of Arizona, where they held multiple roles including Field Supervisor, Emergency Medical Technician, and Field Training Officer from December 2015 to November 2019.

Furthermore, they worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health from June 2018 to August 2018, and at the Banner Health Department of Surgery from January 2018 to May 2018.

Lastly, Gianna started their professional career as a Weight Room Monitor at the University of Arizona Campus Recreation Department from December 2016 to June 2017.

Gianna Jordan completed their Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Biomaterials from the University of Arizona in 2019. Gianna then pursued a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the same university, graduating in 2021. In addition to their formal education, Gianna obtained several certifications, including the Responsible Conduct of Research from the NIH Clinical Center (CC) in August 2018, the National Incident Command System from FEMA in January 2015, and the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the Arizona Department of Health Services in December 2017. Gianna also obtained the Emergency Medical Technician, Basic certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in February 2017. Finally, Gianna obtained the Open Water Diver certification from PADI, although the specific month and year of this certification were not provided.
