Jan Burmeister M.D.

Jan Burmeister, MD has a diverse work experience in the medical field. From 2011 to 2017, they completed their residency in Adult Neurology at the University Hospital Essen, where they obtained German board certification in Neurology. During their residency, they completed rotations in various areas such as stroke care, neurological intensive care, electrophysiology, and outpatient clinics for botulinum toxin, movement disorders, vestibular disorders, and headaches.

In 2018, Jan Burmeister joined KEM | Evang. Kliniken Essen-Mitte gGmbH as a Fellow in Neuropsychiatry. During this role, they received extensive clinical training in geriatric psychiatry, schizophrenia, affective disorders, and addiction disorders. They also supported the neurological consultation service.

In 2021, they moved to AmyriAD Therapeutics as a Medical Director and worked until February 2023. Finally, starting in March 2023, Jan Burmeister is currently employed at Sage Therapeutics as a Medical Director in Medical Science.

Jan Burmeister, MD attended the University of Münster from 2004 to 2011, where they obtained a Medical Doctor degree. In 2010, they completed a clinical elective in Adult Neurology at McGill University.
