Their research activities focused on understanding amyloid-beta and alpha-synuclein kinetics and developing a diagnostic blood test for Alzheimer's.

Prior to their academic role, they worked as an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, where they directed a Translational Neuroscience laboratory. Their research interests included understanding the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease, developing animal models, and identifying novel targets for disease-modifying therapies.
