Matthew Hill's work experience begins in 2001 when they started as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Ohio Unversity. In 2002, they worked as an NSF REU Undergraduate Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York. In 2003, they joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Research Assistant and later became a Graduate Research Assistant, a position they held until 2008. In 2008, they joined Bristol Myers Squibb as a Research Investigator II - Medicinal Chemistry and worked their way up to Senior Research Investigator - Medicinal Chemistry in 2010. Matthew then became a Principal Scientist - Medicinal Chemistry in 2014, a position they held until 2021. In 2021, Matthew joined Sage Therapeutics as a Director - Medicinal Chemistry and was later promoted to Senior Director - Head of Medicinal Chemistry in 2022.
Matthew Hill obtained a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Legal Communication from Ohio University, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Matthew then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing their studies from 2003 to 2008. Matthew later enrolled at the University of Connecticut School of Business, where they received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance between 2011 and 2013.
