Patrick Ryan Cooper is an Assistant Professor of Theology and Director of the Benedictine Institute and Spiritual Life Institute in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Saint Martin’s University. He teaches both introductory and advanced courses in theology to both Saint Martin undergraduates, majors and minors of the Department as well as regularly offers continuing intellectual formation to junior monks from the Abbey. His areas of specialization and research are concentrated at the porous intersection between the tradition of mystical theology, systematics, and contemporary philosophy of religion and in particular, the revival of metaphysics. He regularly gives lectures and conference papers in both North America and Europe and is currently engaged in research and publications surrounding Trinitarian Ontology.
