David's career began as an HR Business Partner and Recruiter at Accenture, where they played a key role in building HR capabilities for mobile internet services provider Vizzavi. David started their career as a recruiter at Brunel.

David Hulsenbek began their education in 1982 at Stedelijk Lyceum Zutphen, where they pursued their Atheneum degree until 1989. David then attended Utrecht University from 1989 to 1996, earning their LLM degree in Law. In 2009, David continued their education at the University of Groningen, where they studied HR Strategy from 2009 to 2010. Later, in 2017 to 2018, they enrolled in the CHRO Program/Non-executive Director at Hemingway Professional Governance.
