Sarah Sorensen

Sarah Sorensen is an experienced public policy and external relations manager currently serving at the San Antonio Food Bank since May 2023. In addition to this role, Sarah has been a board trustee for San Antonio ISD since May 2021, focusing on educational policy and community advocacy through the Schools Our Students Deserve platform. As the founder and lead organizer of Our Schools SA, Sarah has driven initiatives for increased community involvement in education, securing substantial funding and collaborating with multiple organizations. Previous experience includes roles in COVID-19 case investigation at UTHealth, project management for the P16Plus Council of Greater Bexar County aimed at improving college attainment for Latinx students, and legislative analysis for the New York State Assembly. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs and Policy from the University at Albany and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Montana.
