Brian Hampton

VP, Football Administration at San Francisco 49ers

Brian Hampton is in his 17th season with the 49ers and first as the vice president, football administration. He spent the previous 10 seasons (2010-19) as the director of football administration and analytics. Hampton also served as the team's manager of football operations for two seasons and as an analyst before that. He originally joined the 49ers as a football operations intern in late 2003.

In his current role, Hampton is responsible for contract negotiations, strategic planning and management of the club's player compensation budget and salary cap. His various other daily football operations duties include overseeing the budgets for all football departments, compliance with league rules and scheduling. Hampton built the club's football R&D program, finding and developing new ways to gain advantages in both scouting decision making and game management strategy. Hampton also provides frequent analysis on special projects for the owner, head coach, general manager and president.
