Francis Frenzel's work experience begins in 2011 as a Controls Team Leader at Athena Automation, where they started as a controls programmer and eventually became a team leader. In this role, they designed and deployed real-time control systems for robotic and industrial machines, developed human-machine interfaces, and managed relationships with customers worldwide.

In 2015, Frenzel moved to Clearpath Inc. as a Senior Systems Developer. They were responsible for bridging customer, sales, and engineering relationships and integrating autonomous robotic systems into live work environments. They designed specifications, developed use cases, and ensured safety through safety assessments, testing, and compliance measures.

Frenzel then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2016 as a Pilot until January 2023.

Most recently, in 2023, Frenzel joined Sanctuary AI as a Telerobotics Engineer & Pilot.

Throughout their work experience, Frenzel has demonstrated expertise in robotics, controls programming, system integration, and leadership.

Francis Frenzel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and English Literature from Western University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Afterward, Francis pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Toronto, completing their studies from 2008 to 2010. Currently, Francis is attending the University of Victoria, where they will earn a Master of Business Administration - MBA degree focused on Sustainable Innovation. This program began in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2023.
