Oliver Knitter

Quantum Computing Postdoctoral Fellow at SandboxAQ

Oliver Knitter is currently an AI Resident at SandboxAQ, part of the organization's PhD Residency Program since June 2023. Previously, Oliver served as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from September 2019 to June 2023, where the focus was on developing experimental software utilizing advanced machine learning techniques for quantum computing applications, including a notable quantum-inspired linear system solver accepted at NeurIPS 2022. Additional experience includes a Machine Learning Research Internship at Signify, teaching roles at San Francisco State University, and instructional responsibilities at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Oliver holds a PhD in Applied & Interdisciplinary Mathematics and Scientific Computing from the University of Michigan, along with a Master's degree in Applied & Interdisciplinary Mathematics from the same institution, as well as multiple degrees in Mathematics from San Francisco State University and UC Santa Barbara.
